Is USDN-based device activation required?

No.

USDN-based node activation is completely optional.

Users may:

• Participate in NodeLink with only a device, without assigning USDN to node activation.

• Link a partial amount of USDN to a device as an activation balance.

• Use the full allowed activation amount if they wish to follow the most structured configuration offered at that time.

There is no obligation to assign USDN for node activation in order to:

• Operate a device

• Take part in the core infrastructure model

• Access the essential features of the NodeLink ecosystem

It exists as an additional configuration layer, not as a requirement.
